How to get here:-

By Ferry
We are less than 1.5 hours drive from the port of St.Malo, and an overnight ferry from Portsmouth can bring you to France.

We are approximately 2.5 to 3 hours from the other western ports of Caen and Cherbourg, serviced by both Brittany Ferries and P&O, with summer crossings into Caen via the Caen Express, and into Cherbourg via the Normandy Express, for minimal sea crossing times.

Other ports of entry into France include Le Havre and Boulogne (340 miles) serviced by Speed Ferries which gives a frequent and cheaper crossing but a longer drive through countryside and clear roads. Alternatively the Dover-Calais crossing is also an option.

By Air
The airports of Dinard (serviced by Ryanair) and Dinan are less than 1.5 hours drive away, with the option of car hire on arrival, Rennes airport is only 30 minutes away and serviced by Flybe direct from Eastleigh (Southampton).

On the southern Brittany borders we are in an area known as the "Porte de Bretagne", a line once fortified and defended against the rest of France by the Breton people, at the medieval châteaux of Fougeres, Vitre and Chateaubriant, all worth a visit with their associated parks and gardens. To the south and west lies the area known as the Garden of France, the Loire with it's vineyards, western coast beaches and later-period, grand, Renaissance Châteaux.

Our location gives the opportunity of visiting not only the many interesting sights of the Brittany region but also the Wine tasting Vineyards, Chateaux, parks and gardens of the Western Loire all within easy reach. Indeed, previous guests have commented on the amount of sight-seeing at close hand and not being able to visit everything during their stay. Weekly markets at Bain de Bretagne, Guerche-de-Bretagne and Chateaubriant offer a variety of local produce and for shop-a-holics the centres of Rennes and Nantes are a must!

Weather here is influenced by the micro-climate of the Loire-Atlantique region, caused by salt beds on the west coast, giving consistantly warmer weather than most other parts of Brittany, by several degrees.
